The theme was Trailer Trash if you were wondering.

Wow looking through old hard-drives you can find some treasures. But I’ll just post a few more.

Here are two illustrations that were done for Curtain University’s Grok Magazine. (Before the logo and titles were added)

With a very faint brief, anything goes for this student magazine.
Both illustrations were drawn in pencil and then completed in Adobe Illustrator.

This digital illustration/painting was done for practice a while back with a Wacom Tablet.
I found the picture while diving deep into the murky waters of and old hard drive.

My favourite part about this illustration is the colour scheme and that it was created from a reference photo which I took while traveling in Western Australia.

You might not be able to judge a book by its cover but it is very, very persuasive…especially if its illustrated.

Lined up against hundreds of competitors every book needs the best chance it can get.
Pulp Fiction covers usually had little to do with the stories inside and used there vibrant covers to attract browsers at newsstands. During the same time science fiction illustrations opened our imaginations to aliens and new future worlds.

These days you can browse major book stores and see the best sellers of all genres from cook books to gardening and notice nine times out of ten they will have an illustrated cover.
From elaborate designs full of character to simple yet powerful illustrations such as the Pulp Fiction Style cover shown above.
